We believe in the porch swings as
"southern" community charm for a modern day. Our exquisite porch swings can be custom made to fit your sunroom or covered porch. -
These traditional chairs are timeless, durable, and one of our favorite things to build. We work in green wood and kiln dried wood.
-
We are expanding to include chair caning and refurbishing services, with a focus on woven seats, danish cord, cane, and rush. Ask if we can help with your project.
Custom Furniture Process
-
All you need to get started is an idea, a need, or an empty space in your home! We'll have a meeting of the minds either virtually or preferably on-site. I present wood and finish samples and we identify a target budget.
-
I do some sketching and modeling. We decide on wood, finishes, and final design details. I provide you with with a cost estimate and a timeline for the build. (usually 6-8 weeks).
-
A few weeks before the build begins, I collect a 50% deposit and order materials. You can opt into process photos as the build gets underway, or you can wait for a final reveal!
-
We typically deliver finished pieces within a 75 mile range of Frederick, Maryland. Full payment is due at time of delivery. We prefer payment by check. Life with your new piece begins!

FAQ
-
We prefer to work in local hardwoods that are sustainable. Our favorites are cherry, ash, walnut, maple, birch, white oak, and sycamore.
-
We are committed to environmentally-safe finishes that allow wood to remain wood. We typically use an oil-hardwax finish or a wiping varnish. We avoid toxic products or spray finishes that give a plastic look. It's wood afterall!
-
Handmade objects are expensive, and working wood is notoriously time-consuming. If you have a budget it mind, that helps us to set the scope of your project. Please expect to pay more than you would for any mass manufactured item. But we aim to make our furniture accessible and affordable.
